what I gathered from recent supernatural spoilers:

• Dean and Castiel will get out of purgatory in the first episode
• we will see flashbacks of purgatory throughout the season

what I took from this:

• Dean and Castiel will be acting weird towards each other upon their return; refusing to be alone together, avoiding looking at each other, etc.
• Sam notices because he is smart
• when the three of them need to split up for hunts, Dean will always palm Castiel off on Sam
• which Sam finds really weird
• meanwhile we’re seeing flashbacks of purgatory
• and in each one Dean and Castiel are getting closer
• literally
• anyway there comes a point where Dean and Castiel HAVE to do something together on their own
• and when Sam goes to find them afterwards, they are making out furiously under a tree
• flashback to purgatory where Dean and Castiel are making out under a tree
• Sam suddenly realises why they’ve been acting so odd
• he cheers them on and they get all embarrassed and it’s all very adorable
